About us

Listening first. Building together.

Rekha Unnayan Sangstha is a Bangladeshi non-profit working at the intersection of education, livelihoods, women's leadership, and community health.

Our community

Our mission

To partner with under-served communities in Bangladesh to design and deliver programs that build lasting dignity and opportunity.

Our vision

A Bangladesh where every person — regardless of gender, faith, or birthplace — has the means to shape their future.

Our approach

We listen, co-design, fund openly, and publish what we learn. Communities lead; we follow with care and rigor.

Our story

What began in 2009 as a small after-school program in a single village has grown into a network of 24 community partnerships across Bangladesh. Our founders — a teacher, a nurse, and two field organizers — believed that the people closest to a problem are also closest to the solution.

Fifteen years later, that belief still guides every project we take on. We don't arrive with a fixed playbook. We arrive with questions, time, and a long-term commitment to the communities who invite us in.

We are registered with the NGO Affairs Bureau and audited annually. Our financials and impact reports are published openly each year.
