Clean cookstove revolving fund hits self-sustaining (পরিষ্কার চুলা ঘূর্ণায়মান তহবিল স্বয়ংসম্পূর্ণ)

Three years in, the Nirapod Rannaghor revolving fund now pays for new stoves on its own.

Nirapod Rannaghor's revolving fund — a small subsidised fee paid by each household receiving an improved cookstove — has crossed the threshold of self-sustainability. Every new stove installed in 2026 will be paid for from prior contributions, with no further outside funding required.

Six hundred households across 14 villages are now using the stoves. Average fuelwood use is down by roughly 45% from baseline, and reported respiratory complaints among women cooks are down by about a third.

The next phase: a partnership with two unions to extend the model to an additional 400 households.
