Notes from a coastal health camp (উপকূলীয় স্বাস্থ্য শিবিরের নোট)

Three days, six villages, 412 patients — and what we learned about access.

We spent three days running mobile health camps across six unions in Cox's Bazar in late January. By the time we packed up, we had seen 412 patients — about 60% women and children.

The most common complaints were unsurprising: respiratory infections, untreated hypertension, and skin conditions tied to saline water exposure. The harder ones to talk about — and to treat — were the ones rooted in distance.

For families more than an hour from the nearest clinic, even a routine antenatal check-up becomes a half-day commitment. Our notes from this round will feed directly into next quarter's camp schedule.
